I am chasing a dream, a dream that is bigger than I am qualified for. When the dream of becoming a writer was placed on my heart over three years ago, I put my lifelong learner qualities into action of reading and writing on a daily basis. Through a crazy social media connection, I am blogging for CapitalMOM.
Hello, my name is Shelly. My husband and I have three kids. Our oldest is a freshman in high school, and our youngest is in second grade. Most days, I feel like we are a “tag-team chauffeuring” service, yet I wouldn’t have our life any other way. Like most families, our calendar is color-coded with softball practices, wrestling meets, basketball games, school activities and concerts, musical practices, and I cannot forget to add monthly professional meetings. Yet all of these bring me such joy. My heart is full watching our kids do what they love.
Not only I am a business/technology teacher at Milford, I am also the district technology integration specialist. I love teaching because I get the opportunity to make those around me better. I do believe I have the best of both worlds in each day. I get to help students and teachers learn to use technology effectively and efficiently. My husband is the principal at Milford Jr/Sr High School. Along with all the duties that go along with being a principal, he finds time to serve our community and professional organizations.
I asked my kids the one thing they thought I should share (I was a little hesitant…I just never know what our son will say) and they all said,
“Everyday, you remind us to attack the day with kindness.”
This is definitely who I am. Each day, I choose to share smile and share joy to those around me. I am learning to be fearless in living a simpler life and taking new adventures. My hope is that, through my blogging, I am able to inspire, encourage, and share with you my adventures of being a wife, mother, and professional.
