Sometimes you get a once in a lifetime chance, a chance to choose to impact a person, a family. You may not get a standing ovation or a tight gripped hug, but would you still make the choice to help?
I’d like to introduce an opportunity that gives everyone in Lincoln (and beyond) a chance to be kind-hearted towards the families & friends of the smallest, but strongest patients at Bryan Health. These are the patients of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The opportunity is to help bring a dream to life, a Rooftop Healing Garden, at Bryan Health’s Inaugural Sweet Baby Blues Event, which will be held on May 31st, 2014, at the Kiechel Fine Art Building.
Bryan Health is stepping up to the needs of not just patients, but the patient’s family, friends and their own staff. They are in pursuit of seeing past charts, vital signs & surgery schedules. What they see is that, in moments of struggle, their patients and their families are in need of a place of refuge; An escape from the four walls of a hospital room; A place to take captive the information delivered to make difficult decisions about their fragile baby’s future; A place for a mother to let go of tears when she’s spending the 42nd night away from home; A place to have a moment to themselves when life is pulling from every direction; A Rooftop Healing Garden.
Bryan Health’s Inaugural Sweet Baby Blues is a celebratory event of fine art, music, wines and culinary delights. Blues artists from around the region will entertain us for this extraordinary evening. At the following website you can become a Sweet Baby Blue Partner, give a donation to the event, and purchase tickets: http://bryanhealth.cvent.com/sweetbb
TJ and I have been so honored to be a part of this campaign. There have been so many families up to this moment who have paved the way for this incredible project to come to life. Izabella’s contagious smile has been the face on the brochures circulating around the Lincoln area & we are so proud of Bryan Health and what they stand for as a hospital. Please join us on May 31st, so you may see the faces and stories of NICU Graduates & enjoy an evening for such a worthy project.
